KLH Engineers (KLH) will be presenting for the first time at Autodesk University (AU) in Las Vegas, Nevada, from Nov. 19-21, 2019, in three highly popular sessions that have reached maximum capacity. AU connects over 10,000 professionals from construction, manufacturing, architecture, engineering and media creation. KLH will present on a variety of topics ranging from machine learning and automating Revit add-in testing to the integration of software engineers into organizational culture.

Jim Tavernelli, PE, LEED AP, MBA, President and COO, and Alex Jonovski, PE, Principal and Director of Project Management, will present “Integrating In-House Software Engineers into Your Organization’s Culture” on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2:45-3:45 p.m. They will discuss the benefit of adding in-house software engineers and programmers to an organization and how it can facilitate a higher level of ideation, innovation and computational design that transforms the uses of Revit. Tavernelli and Jonovski will also explore how to solve challenges in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry by integrating software engineers into the firm’s culture and pushing the way Revit was designed to serve the industry.

John D’Alessandro, Software Engineer, and Doug Johansing, PE, LEED AP BD+C, Principal and Director of Software Engineering, will lead the session, “A Practical Use of Machine Learning in the AEC Industry” on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2:45-3:45 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 21, 8:00-9:00 a.m. This class will demystify machine learning by providing a case study on how KLH used Python to create a machine learning model to bridge the gap between AutoCAD and Revit in the AEC industry. Attendees will discover how to use their own historical data to enhance their company’s process workflow.

“Automate Your Revit Add-In Testing with Unit Testing” will be presented by Patrick Fernbach, Software Engineer, and Corey Smith, Software Business Analyst, on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2:45-3:45 p.m. Fernbach and Smith, who both have mechanical engineering backgrounds, will go through testing concepts and teach participants how to create a unit test project and a simple Revit unit test. They will also share tips and tricks that KLH uses to push testing to its development team and employees to create better products.

I’ve gotten so much use out of Bulk Circuit Editor, Flip, Match and Duplicate, I’d buy the suite just for those tools alone.
