KLH Named Among Inaugural Best Workplaces in NKY
KLH Engineers, a national mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering firm headquartered in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, has been named among the inaugural Best Workplaces in Northern Kentucky (NKY) by NKY Magazine. KLH is featured in the spring issue of NKY Magazine and will be honored at the Best Workplaces in NKY Celebration on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at the Metropolitan Club in Covington, Kentucky.
Nominees for this award included for-profit, non-profit and government institutions. NKY Magazine chose 21 winners based on the quality of each submission. Eight companies were selected for special recognition, with each earning a superlative for excellence in a facet of workplace culture. KLH received recognition for being the “Most Committed to Volunteering and Charity.”
KLH’s community service program, Keep Lending a Hand, is dedicated to supporting the firm’s employees in their charitable work and improving the regions where they live, work and play. The mission of the program is to donate time, expertise and financial resources to qualifying community and charitable organizations that help people in need. In addition, KLH gives employees 10 paid service hours per year for hands-on volunteering.
KLH strives to make each employee feel valued, while having a sense of enjoyment in their work and pride in their communities. Throughout the year, employees may attend a variety of educational and team-building events such as lunch and learns, happy hours, volunteer activities and an annual campout at Red River Gorge.
“We are very proud of the culture that we have at KLH. It is driven not just by the leadership of the firm but by passionate team members who drive employee engagement around innovation, wellness (including mental health), team building, professional development and just plain having fun,” says Bob Heil, CEO of KLH.
Due to KLH’s employee-centric culture, the firm was also recently named to the 2020 Best Places to Work in Kentucky for the second consecutive year by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the Kentucky Society for Human Resources Management (KYSHRM) and ClearPath Mutual Insurance Company.
KLH has a total of 120 full- and part-time employees working across its offices in Fort Thomas, Lexington, and Louisville, Kentucky; Columbus, Ohio; and New York City, New York.
