KLH Engineers Announces New Principals Amid Continued Growth
Kohrs Lonnemann Heil Engineers, Inc. (KLH Engineers), a nationally recognized engineering firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of four new principals. The appointments support the firm’s strategic growth initiatives as it aims to transform the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry through its technological innovations.

Effective immediately, KLH Engineers’ new principals include:
Brian Bruggeman, chief client officer, has driven the firm’s client-centric culture as well as its business development and sales strategies since he joined the firm in 2014. He is recognized throughout the AEC industry for his expertise on matters of public policy and funding that impacts professional design services and construction at the federal, state and local levels. He has helped contract $20 billion in total construction projects throughout his 23-year career. His project experience ranges from airport terminals, outdoor water parks and educational facilities, to mixed-use developments, medical facilities and retail shops.
Chris Zurmehly, CxA, director of field services, joined the firm in 2006 and oversees the firm’s construction administration, building commissioning and retro-commissioning service offerings as well as site surveys. Zurmehly is a well-respected construction administration professional who is recognized for collaboration with contractors in solving issues in the field. His area of expertise includes higher education buildings, large public sector assignments and commercial developments.
Chris Mehaffie, PE, MBA, SSGB, civic studio director, joined the firm in 2011 and focuses his expertise on master planning and large-scale project implementation for governmental and utility clients. He has led project teams on some of the most complex assignments contracted in the firm’s 67-year history including consolidated rental car complexes and terminals at both the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and John Glenn Columbus International Airport; the renovation of the Kentucky State Capitol Building; and work at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He will continue to lead the firm’s civic market and serve public sector agencies throughout the United States.
Brandon Johnson, PE, director of electrical engineering, joined the firm in 2013 and oversees the growth of the electrical department, its service offerings, and the development and implementation of its custom electrical software. Johnson is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and regional events such as Autodesk University, Prefab CONNECT and the Cincinnati BIM User Group. He is recognized by his peers for his understanding and utilization of modern business practices, technologies and workflows that bring change and efficiency to the construction industry.
