Patrick Eldridge, AI architect and lead mechanical engineering associate, and Corey Smith, director of BIM, at Kohrs Lonneman Heil Engineers, Inc. (KLH Engineers) will present at the Autodesk University (AU) 2024 Design & Make Conference, held from Oct. 15-17, in San Diego, California. This marks KLH’s fourth time presenting at AU, a testament to the firm’s ongoing leadership in advancing design and construction technologies. The conference brings together creatives and innovators from a range of industries, including architecture, engineering, construction, product design, manufacturing and media. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with industry leaders, explore emerging technologies, and collaborate to shape a better future. The theme, “Together, We Are Making the Future,” highlights the event’s focus on collective innovation.

Eldridge will present a case study titled “From Lines to Life: Automating the CAD-to-Revit Workflow with Machine Learning” on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 4:30 p.m. PDT. Attendees will discover how:

  • AI and machine learning are transforming the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry.
  • Integrating AI into workflows can improve building information modeling (BIM) data.
  • Using historical data can enhance company processes.

Smith’s industry talk, “Synergizing VDC and Engineering: A Blueprint for Success in Industrial Construction,” will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 8:00 a.m. PDT. In this session, he will explore:

  • The benefits of integrating Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) with engineering early in project planning.
  • How this integration can reduce rework, save costs, and increase efficiency.
  • The growing importance of this approach in modular construction.
