Ryan Dobbins, DBIA, vice president of strategic growth, along with Patrick Eldridge, AI architect and lead mechanical engineering associate at Kohrs Lonnemann Heil Engineers, Inc. (KLH Engineers), will be presenting “Beyond The Basics: How AI Transforms Workflows to Focus on Design Impact” in a webinar hosted by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Columbus on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. EST.

The virtual presentation will discuss how AI is reshaping the AEC industry by automating routine tasks and accelerating iteration, allowing teams to focus on higher-value work. Dobbins and Eldridge will cover key AI subsets like machine learning, generative design and large language models (LLMs), showcasing their practical applications such as AutoCAD-to-Revit conversions and client collaboration through image generation.

The session will also emphasize the importance of well-structured data for leveraging AI and provide insights on preparing organizations for seamless AI integration, shifting focus from process management to delivering design impact.

Learning objectives include understanding AI’s positive disruption to the AEC industry, identifying key AI applications and future trends, recognizing the importance of organizational data, and developing AI strategies.

The event is open to AIA members allied Members and sponsors for $10, associate members and students for $5, and nonmembers for $25, with the opportunity to earn AIA continuing education credits.
