Crayola Experience

The 60,000-square-foot Crayola Experience at the Mall of America is a family attraction that provides 25 hands-on creative opportunities for kids and adults to explore art and technology in a new way. Guest experiences include “Wrap it Up!” where the user can name and wrap their own crayons; “Be A Star,” where the user can feature in a coloring page; “Color Magic,” which brings the coloring page to life in 4-D; and a live Factory Show where the user can experience how crayons are made. Crayola Experience also offers a Café with a full-service kitchen and The Crayola Store, which provides a selection of Crayola products and souvenirs.

KLH provided new electrical distribution equipment, lighting and lighting controls for this project. The HVAC systems included new fan-powered VAV boxes, heaters, distribution, restroom exhaust, temperature controls, new kitchen hoods, kitchen exhaust and make up air systems. New plumbing systems and water heating were provided for new restrooms and the kitchen.
