Springhill Suites by Marriott Charlotte Uptown

This new 195-room, 16-story upscale hotel includes first-floor retail space, an indoor pool, fitness center, top floor meeting spaces and basement facilities. The hotel abuts an existing structure that connects directly to via the first floor. The triangular parcel, about a third of an acre in size, is at the intersection of East Fifth Street and the light-rail line and across Fifth from Time Warner Cable Arena.

KLH provided the mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems. In addition, the firm provided site and façade lighting, energy management, and coordinated with the kitchen equipment supplier related to utility connections, duct pathways and MEP utility connections/capacities. Tankless water heaters will be incorporated to create space that boilers or banks of tank-type water heaters would otherwise consume.

This $40.5 million project opened in April of 2017.
