University of Cincinnati Siddall Hall Renovation

University of Cincinnati Siddall Hall, a 112,000-square-foot residence hall located on the Uptown West Campus, was designed as part of a two-year, fully vacated “half-life” renovation similar in scope to the recently completed renovations of Calhoun, Scioto and Morgens Halls.

The 1964 high-rise building received a complete overhaul, featuring a redesigned exterior envelope and new interior floor layout to improve public core spaces and amenities. The updated residence hall now offers 500 beds, a 5,000-square-foot fitness area, lounge space and a common laundry and kitchenette.

Utility infrastructure upgrades were designed by KLH and constructed as part of the neighboring Calhoun Hall renovation. Scope of work for this project included replacement of all interior MEP infrastructure on all 12 floors of the facility. The HVAC plant systems, consisting of chilled water and steam, were redone at the inlet of the building, with all new pumps, steam train, and heat exchangers, serving new terminal equipment throughout the building. All lighting was upgraded to LED in the dormitory and corridors.
