University of Kentucky Asset Management
The University of Kentucky is the Commonwealth’s flagship institution, with over 20 million square feet of space on campus. From 2010 to 2019, the university has invested $2.7 billion in new or modernized facilities, yet much of campus still is in need of improvements.
KLH has been providing on-going asset management consulting services, reviewing the end-life for mechanical and electrical systems in over 25 buildings including academic, student life and athletic facilities. In addition, KLH has assessed building systems for over 1 million square feet at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
The reports are incorporated into the University’s Capital Improvement Planning and help support an ongoing Facilities Modernization Program preserving some of the most iconic buildings on campus. Some of the buildings KLH has assessed include Memorial Coliseum, W.D. Funkhouser, Whitehall Classroom, Charles E. Barnhart, Taylor Education and Agricultural Sciences North.
